Battleground Delhi

Three days ago Delhi witnessed its coldest day in last 44-years. But these two men has been on a hunger strike under the open sky for more than 10 days now at Jantar Mantar to get justice for ‘Damini’/ ‘Nirbhaya’. Their condition is deteriorating rapidly. But their will power is intact. The number of other protesters has declined significantly. Everyone says more will come. ‘We won’t stop before getting justice for Damini’. In other streets of Delhi life is just normal. Metro trains are jampacked. Rapes are continuing. Protesters are being cynically classified. Men and women are marrying, partying and worrying about the general order of things. And someone like me continue to watch everything silently. Wondering if there is a magical way through which people’s positive energy could be unified for constructing an involved, compassionate, sensitive society.

Braving one of the coldest winters of Delhi in recent memory, two protestors are on a hunger strike for more than 10 days now, under the open sky at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. Their condition is deteriorating rapidly. They have resolved to secure speedy justice for the 23-year-old girl who was brutally raped and eventually murdered by six men in a moving bus on December 16, 2012.

I hope everyone gets the change they want in Delhi.
